A cue marker anchors your reading line so your eyes have one fixed place to return to, which is what keeps your gaze near the lens instead of wandering down the screen. Elapsed and remaining time are computed live from your real reading speed, with a progress bar, so you know whether you will make a sixty-second cut before you start talking rather than after.

Auto Scroll uses the speech recognition already on your phone. In most languages that means Google's speech service, which needs an internet connection. Download the offline language pack for your language once, in Android's own settings, and the prompter keeps following you with no connection at all — useful on location, on a plane, or anywhere the signal is thin.

If you would rather set a pace than be followed, Timed Scroll does the opposite job: tell it how long you have and it paces the whole script to fit. Between the two you can either let the script chase your voice or make your voice fit the clock.

Video mode records with the script sitting over the live camera preview, so the prompter and the take happen on one phone in one pass. Front or rear lens, a countdown before the text starts moving, and every clip lands in a takes library with an editor and a one-tap export.

That matters most for the shoots nobody else is on: a self-tape audition, a product clip filmed at your desk, a lesson recorded between classes. You are not balancing a second device above the lens or trying to read from a laptop just off camera.

The floating prompter puts your script in a small pill that stays on top of whatever else is on screen. A video call, a live stream, a slide deck, the camera app you already prefer — the prompter sits above it, and you can play, pause and change speed without leaving the app you are in.

It is the difference between reading notes you have memorised the shape of and actually reading your script during a Meet call or a Twitch stream, with nobody on the other end able to tell.

Run the prompter on one Android phone and the remote on another on the same network: play, pause, change speed and jump through the script from your hand, so nobody walks back to the tripod between takes. Bluetooth pedals, page turners and clickers work too — pair one as a keyboard and it drives the prompter.

For hardware prompters, one tap mirrors the text horizontally or vertically for beam-splitter glass, so the words read correctly through the mirror while the camera sees straight through it.
