Headline Analyzer

Score a title or headline out of 100 on eight checks that correlate with clicks, and see exactly what to fix.

60

9 words · 47 characters

  • Length 40 to 70 characters. Yours is 47. Long titles get cut off in search results and feeds.
  • 6 to 12 words. Yours has 9. Short enough to scan, long enough to promise something.
  • Contains a number. Numbers set expectations ("7 mistakes", "in 30 seconds").
  • Uses a power word. Try words like proven, simple, mistake, why, how.
  • Carries emotion. One emotional word makes a title feel human.
  • Speaks to the reader (you/your). Direct address increases clicks.
  • Not all caps. ALL CAPS reads as shouting and looks spammy.
  • Asks or implies a question. Questions create an open loop the viewer wants closed.

The score is a checklist, not a prediction. A headline that scores 60 but fits your thumbnail perfectly will beat a 90 that doesn't. Use it to catch the obvious misses: too long, no promise, no reason to click.
